When I first created my personal website back in 2020, I didn’t really think much about where I wanted to go with this. I just thought it would be cool to have a blog where I could pen down my thoughts.
And I’m gonna be frank, it was pretty fun sharing all my intimate thoughts and perceptions here. They weren’t mature per se, but they were candid. Looking back and reading those old blogs, I feel proud when I realize how much I’ve grown since then. The pandemic had just begun around that time, and I was still in high school.
Now I’m in different country living by myself, and COVID mask rules are finally easing here (yay!).
So much has changed. I have too, as a person.
This is why I’ve decided to make a fresh start with my blog in 2023.
Throughout my four years of university, I expect to meet a lot of new people – both in-person and online. And a small handful of them will be visiting my website – which will essentially act as my extended virtual identity.
I don’t want them to see the person I was in 2020. Instead, I want them to see who I am now.
So, I’m unpublishing everything I’ve written in the last three years.
I plan on completely changing the kind of writing I publish here and only post what I think truly deserves to be shown to the world – not merely candid thoughts that come into my mind.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not gonna try to establish myself as an authority in any niche. The topics I will be writing about from now will still be revolving around my personal life.
They will just not be as intimate as before. But hopefully, more thoughtful than ever.
Perhaps one day, I’ll revisit my old blog posts, but for now, I’m focused on having a website that reflects the person I am today.
